Rumours are rife that David Beckham, currently playing for AC Milan and living out of a luxury hotel suite in the city, could be buying some prime real estate in the area. George Clooney’s stunning villa on the shores of Lake Como is apparently up for sale, and the Beckham’s are first in the running to buy.
The stunning villa, located in Laglio just 39 miles away from Milan, would offer the Beckham’s the perfect family home. Right on the shore of Lake Como, the villa is home to no less than 30 rooms as well as its very own pool, tennis courts and even a private jetty, giving them the chance to hit the lake in style.
George Clooney bought the villa in 2002, but he’s said to have since become disillusioned with the media attention. He’s looking for a bit more privacy for both him and his TV presenter girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis, which prompted him to put the property up for sale. Prices in the area have shot up since his arrival, and the villa is reportedly on the market for around 26 million Euros.
The Beckham’s first stayed at the villa as guests of George last year and immediately fell in love, both with the villa itself as well as the area. Becks has told friends that it would be perfect for his brood, being in beautiful, peaceful countryside yet still close to Milan, great for his football obligations as well as his wife’s shopping habits. As Victoria is currently still located in LA it would be the perfect chance to get the family back together, allowing David to concentrate on his football career with his family by his side.
Lake Como truly is a beautiful area, and it isn’t hard to see why the Beckham’s have fallen in love with it. Best of all, it’s close to the stunning city of Milan offering the best of both worlds – fabulous countryside with all the buzz of this fantastic city just a short drive away.
If you think a trip to Milan could be for you but you don’t have the budget for a 26 million Euro property, why not consider renting apartments in Milan instead? This could be the perfect way to see everything the area has to offer, and if you feel like seeing whether or not the Beckham clan is there yet simply head on over to Laglio to see for yourself. What could be better?
