Prêt a Porter 2009 in Paris
The glossy world of fashion will assemble in the Lounge of prêt-à-porter in Paris, from 4th to 7th September 2009, in the Versailles Exhibition Centre. This is an annual event, which will show the new autumn-winter trends of the best in international fashion. It is a special act where the most appreciated designers among the general public will gather together. This year a great space of 550 square metres called “WAYS OF EXPLOSION” will be set up, where new trends, lines, images, colours, new materials, etc are shown. And all this presented by different experts.
In this edition prevails the dualism: Less & Excess. We live in a world of abundance and excess. Free to have what we want, those who have everything they just want more. The designers try to represent how, despite the turbulence and chaos that surrounds us, we look to the perfect harmony in order to survive in freedom, which nowadays is the most appreciated value. The organization, established in 1973, is called the “Fédération Française de la Couture”, which has internationally renowned brands such as Hermes and Jean Paul Gaultier.
The aim is to strengthen the role of Paris as the international fashion capital. Itl seeks to promote the development of new brands and to stabilise synergies between different sectors of the fashion industry. In this context you’ll find a collection of ready-to-wear garments belonging to this context and counts on the work of 95 designers including: Chanel, Christian Dior, Kenzo, Louis Vuitton, Pierre Cardin, Valentino and Yves Saint Laurent.
But there are new and creative brands to discover. There are new and unknown fashion brands that present dresses that are incredibly innovative and full of charm. Here you’ll find those clothes that most match with your style and with your daily life. The Dutch Fashion Foundation will be the guest of honour with a selection of brands in this edition.
This event represents the anticipation of upcoming trends. It is also the place where culture, art and fashion intertwine with each other. Therefore, you will discover the emerging artists in the art and fashion world. This is a show that anticipates our future desires. In addition, an event will be organized along with a photo gallery where real parachutes will be improvised as if they were models in the air.
