The Venetian Nights

September 18, 2009 By: venice-apartments Category: Venice

The Venetian night was once one of the most famous in Europe. Although today it can not boast of a rich and lively nightlife, the fact that it can boast about being one of the most charming cities in the world far outweighs this. In return and to cover the shortage of bars and nightclubs there are often held recreational or cultural events. Besides the famous events such as Carnival, the Biennale or the Venetian Film Festival, Venice is a city with a great tradition of classical music and where concerts are held constantly.

This is an expensive city, so the young people move to the outskirts. Hence, the nightlife also moves searching younger population centres. Usually, the Venetians prefer to go for a walk and have a snack (a glass of cold prosecco, which is a type of local white wine) at sunset along the Riva degli Schivoni. With this purpose, the eternally fashionable bars are located in the famous Piazza San Marco. For those who prefer a more bohemian and cheaper atmosphere the Cannaregio and San Polo areas are the perfect ones, and which are also preferred by students.

If you are looking for clubs, you better go to the Mestre area, the student city of Padua or the Lido Island, where many Hollywood artists spend their summer vacations. But if you prefer to stay in Venice, the best option is the Disco Club Piccolo Mondo, where the best house for only 8 euros is played. Another popular establishment is the Casanova Disco Club, where you can dance to the rhythm of the catchiest Latin rhythms.

Furthermore, the pubs and restaurants that remain open until late are concentrated in the Cannaregio and Dorsoduro areas. The Campo Santa Margherita area has become very fashionable amongst the young people too. You should not miss Harry’s Bar, which despite its high prices, is famous for preparing the best Bellinis of the city (a typical cocktail made of prosecco, peach and tangerine juice).

And for the bravest, there’s always the famous Casino of Venice, located inside the Palazzo Vendramin-Calergi, (on the Grand Canal) during the winter and in Palazzo del Casino, (in Lido) in summer.

Who said that in Venice you can not go out at night? You simply have to choose the perfect time and place and the city is pure entertainment and fun! Rent Apartments in Venice for a cheap stay.
