Barcelona Extreme Sports Festival Begins in "La Ciudad Condal"

The urban sports are in fashion and Barcelona, as an icon city that embraces the latest trends, the Barcelona Extreme Sports Festival debuts on 11 and 12 October. This is an unprecedented festival in Spain. The event will take place at the Parc Del Forum in Barcelona and it will bring together the best national and international riders, as well as young amateurs. The enclosure measures 5,000 square metres and it will host seven competition areas: Skateboard, Bike Freestyle (BMX), Inline, Motocross Freestyle (FMX), Wakeboard, Ski and Snowboard. In addition to sporting competitions, there will be a series of activities such as clinics, live music with the best DJ's and concerts, urban art (graffiti) and a shopping area.

Barcelona Extreme Sports Festival is trying to become a world reference for urban sports. Thanks to the support of the City Council and the Institut Barcelona Esports this competition aims to become a new avant-garde identity sign of Barcelona.

Between the eleven differentiated areas, the Forum will have first-rate infrastructure such as two Street parks measuring 1,200 m2 and 800 m2 each one, a half pipe, a flatland, a FMX drop zone, ramps and rails for the ski and the snowboard competitions, and a special space for the wakeboard competition.

The spectacle is guaranteed thanks to the participation of the most prominent riders from the world, such as the famous skater Diego Menezes (winner of the last XGames in Brazil), young hopeful Elliot Sloan or some classics such as Nicky Guerrero, Erick Bailey, Torrenteras, Sidney de Andrés, Lacondeguy or Benguerel.

On the other hand, the assistant public will be able to take part in the free access spaces:
a free park measuring 800 m2, an Inline with ramps, modules and rails and a Free jibbing of 500 m2. In addition, there will be a picnic table for having something to eat between jumps.
